My name is Melanie Burley. I help struggling learners close their academic gaps in reading, writing, & math by creating and implementing personalized learning plans that address their identified weaknesses while keeping their strengths in mind.
As a parent of a child with learning difficulties in math, reading, writing, or spelling, it is hard to watch your child struggle day after day. When your child continues to fall further and further behind, it becomes harder and harder to catch up. Our personal customized learning plans are designed to help close the learning gaps your child faces. We want to give students the gift of learning and the confidence to succeed!
Personal, customized learning plans are designed to help close your child’s learning gaps. I meet students where they are and start from there. I go “as fast as I can and as slow as I must” to address academic weaknesses.
MULTISENSORY
The instruction will include strategies that involve multiple senses such as hearing, seeing, movement, and touching to practice and learn a concept.
EXPLICIT
I provide clear, direct, step-by-step instruction without any assumption that the student will just figure it out. My process incorporates consistent and continuous review to allow the learning to stick. I use the I Do, We Do, and You Do model to gradually give the student independence.
INDIVIDUALIZED
After assessing each learner, I develop individual learning plans to address identified weaknesses and skill gaps.
1-on-1 reading instruction is available for all ages. We provide math instruction up to Algebra 1.
Small group sessions are available for spelling, writing, and vocabulary skills.

My reading has been improving ever since. I am grateful that she tutors me, and she's a good tutor. You should send your kids to her because she will help them. It's been a challenge for me but I can see the difference that this year has made in my life where I can pick a book up and struggle through it. But still, it's better than I did before where I would just look at a book and not even know what the words say. I'm very pleased with the tutor.
