meet your tutor

I am a wife and mother. In 2008 when my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, & ADHD, limited educational support for students with dyslexia existed. Reading has always been a passion of mine so to find out my daughter struggled to read was worrisome and concerning. I wondered about her future.

Being the parent of a child who learns differently has given me knowledge and understanding of what it takes to help a child who struggles to read, along with empathy and respect for the challenges they face. As a result, I tailor my lessons to support the individual needs of my students for one-on-one sessions.

My love for reading, and the fact that I think everyone has the right to learn to read, led me to start volunteering as a reading tutor in 2008. I also serve on the board of the Dyslexia Resource Center.
